Outside scootings and locations
Speaking with photographers,
guides and other amateurs, we have listed dozens of interesting locations,
from the most « postcard » one to the most ordinary looking ones,
where models are easily coming to front. You will find classicals, with
camels and palm trees – although few people have visited recently reshaped
Ksour next to desert mountain oasis yet –, until pictures that you would
think have been shot in any European residential suburb, on a Grand Boulevard
in Paris or in the Irish moor...
Our location pictures have a date of shooting and a North indication.
They are classifyed by type (city, mountain, seaside…). We tried to keep
off the beaten track, and we can naturally do some special scooting for
you beyond our image files. We will e-mail you digital pictures or send
you paper prints by post on request. In any case, they will be precise
enough for you to adjust your layouts.

Sourire &
Lumière has listed charm residences and private houses, magnificient buildings
with bright large volumes.
Traditional arab houses in medinas always followed the same typical plan,
with a large square inside pavement, around which rooms were distributed.
Sleeping rooms were in T shape, with a kind of salon in the middle and
big beds in each side isolated with painted wooden boards and curtains.
All walls used to be covered with gorgeous hand painted tiles and we can
still see nowadays some of them that are four hundred years old or more.
The contemporary
Tunisian architecture is naturaly of a large oriental inspiration, as
the weather does not ask for the sloping rooves that we are accustomed
to in Europe. However, the quality of developments in these beautiful
houses has no cause to be jealous of our western standards. If the taste
of average Tunisians for decoration is seemingly different from what we
appreciate in Europe, Sourire & Lumière priorily seeks appealing places,
with always large rooms and terraces wide enough to spread extra lighting
and give a good depth of field. For catalogue photos, we suggest above
all houses with sober and and light style, in order to have unassuming
backgrounds.
Speaking of prices, they should match even the smallest budgets, especially
compared with European market prices.
Casting of children
Make things simple,
you will find all the children you need, here in Tunisia, land of interbreeding
where a major European communauty lives - especially in Tunis. And they
will be delighted to sit for you with their bright smiles... and following
the contracted authorization of their parents.
Sourire & Lumière will gather a book of children on your request,
with all their features (hair and eyes color, height, foot size), and
organize a special casting in the area where you will shoot.
If the Tunisian legislation is less severe in its definition of children's
rights, wy comply to the four following principles :

no work over a half-day per child,

no travel time over one hour by car,

as few school absence as possible,
-
taking charge of one parent per child near the set.
